Coin pouch is an item obtainable from pickpocketing certain NPCs. The coin pouch stacks in the inventory up to 28 times, after which it must be opened to collect the coins inside before pickpocketing more. Each NPC gives a separate coin pouch; for example, the coin pouch from thieving guards does not stack with pouches from Ardougne knights.
Coin pouches are obtained every pickpocket from Men, Women, Farmers, Warriors, Warrior women, Guards, Fremenniks, Knights of Ardougne, and Paladins. They can also be obtained occasionally from HAM members, Rogues, Cave goblins, Kharidian Bandits, Watchmen, Gnomes, Heroes, and Elves.
Pickpocketing NPCs in Pollnivneach will yield regular coins when pickpocketed while they are knocked out, meaning blackjacking is unaffected.
Previously, pickpocketing NPCs would yield coins directly in the inventory. The coin pouch was added as a method to combat autoclicking while keeping experience rates as similar as possible.
Trivia[]
- Minutes after release, the game servers were turned off due to an issue caused by coin pouches where any stackable items on death were turned into a maximum stack of coins (2,147,483,647). The game was rolled back to the time of the update, and after approximately six hours, the servers were online again.[1]
