Desert shirts are light shirts suitable for desert environments which can be bought from Shantay in the Shantay Pass or from the market seller in Pollnivneach, along with a matching desert robe and desert boots. Desert clothing is needed for the Kharidian Desert south of Shantay Pass. When worn, they decrease the desert heat effect. It has no bonuses.
A full set of desert robes is needed during The Tourist Trap quest, where they are given to a slave miner in exchange for a set of slave robes. This allows the slave to escape and also allows the player access to a deeper area of the mining camp.
The shirt is useful for the quest Shadow of the Storm. In the quest, the shirt can become a black desert shirt when it is dyed using black mushroom ink. Take note that if the shirt is dyed with ink, it no longer offers protection from the desert heat. The desert shirt is also used for emote clue scrolls.
