Hemenster is a very small, quiet fishing town in Kandarin, located on the road that links Seers' Village and eastern Kandarin with the nation's capital, East Ardougne. There is a very small human population, as well as a Vampire, the Sinister Stranger. In addition to this, there are several chickens roaming free, which can be killed for their feathers, as very few other players kill them due to the town's out-of-the-way nature.
Despite the size of the town, Hemenster boasts two guilds: the Fishing Guild, and the Ranging Guild. In addition to this, the town is the predominant setting of the Fishing Contest quest (although the quest also involves neighbouring McGrubor's Wood, located in Seers' Village). Hemenster is often passed though by adventurers on their way to East Ardougne and the rest of western Kandarin and southwestern Kandarin.
There is a chest that can be thieved, located north of the anvils. The chest requires a lockpick and 47 Thieving or it won't open. When the chest is stolen from, the player is granted 150 Thieving experience.
