|An ancient staff, formerly the property of Iban.|
Iban's staff is required to cast Iban Blast. The maximum hit with Iban Blast is 25, making it excellent for low-level player killing and Barrows. Casting Iban Blast on an NPC consumes one charge from the staff, and casting it on another player consumes two charges. The staff can hold up to 120 charges. Note that other spells, like Fire Blast, do not use any charges.
If the player wants to recharge the staff to its maximum charges, the player must go through the Underground Pass to the "Flames of Zamorak," the well located right after the three level 62 Paladins in the Underground Pass. The Paladins do not have to be killed again in order to recharge the staff. Reaching the well becomes much easier once the player has completed Regicide, as the player can then use the Elf entrance to reach the well, which is much quicker and easier than using the Ardougne entrance. Alternatively, players may pay the dark mage 100,000 coins to charge it for them.
If the staff is lost, the player must kill Disciples of Iban until a broken Iban's staff is dropped. This can then be repaired by the Dark mage at the front of the Underground Pass near the western house of West Ardougne for 200,000 coins.
Players can pay 200,000 coins to the dark mage to create Iban's upgraded staff, which fully recharges the staff and allows it to hold 2500 charges instead of 120. This can only be done if the player has completed Underground Pass by speaking to King Lathas.
Players can receive multiple staves using the drop trick before killing an Iban disciple to obtain a broken Iban's staff which can be repaired to give a duplicate. However, all duplicate staves share the same charges whether in the player's inventory or bank, thus still requiring a recharge every 120 casts.
