The Knights of Ardougne are found in the East Ardougne market place. One is also found in the courtyard of the East Ardougne Castle. Most are found attempting to chase away thieves. They will protect all stalls from the silk stall and up by attacking players that they observe stealing from them.

Knights of Ardougne can be pickpocketed at level 55 Thieving, giving the player 50 coins and 84.3 Thieving experience. The Gloves of Silence increase your success rate. Failing to pickpocket will result in being hit for 3 points of damage. They are a good source of Thieving experience for players with 55 to 65 Thieving. Players will stop failing to pickpocket at level 95 Thieving with the Medium Ardougne Diaries completed.

A player can lure a knight into the space next to the north wall of the Ardougne south bank, between the wall and the fence. Run completely around the bank and trap him in the space. The knight's roam range is only about halfway down the back of the bank, so he can easily be pickpocketed without moving. Remember to give him space to move every few minutes, to avoid triggering a respawn. This only works for knights originally found in the southwest corner of the marketplace.

Other effective method is to lure a knight into the house behind the fur stall. Go find a knight and attack it. Then, lure the knight into the house and close the door so that it doesn't get out. Go upstairs to end the attack and then back downstairs. Now, you keep pickpocketing the knight. At some point, the knight will go between the blue flower and the chair or in the north-west corner of the house. You can lock the knight between the door and the western wall. The knight won't get out and you can just spam click it. After 4 minutes, the knight will respawn because the game knows it's stuck. You can let him run a bit in the house but it's easier to find a knight and lure it again to the house.

If pickpocketing the knight with the full rogue's set from 55 thieving to 99 thieving, one can expect to gain about 15.5 mil.

A known bug with a Knight of Ardougne occurs when two people fail to pickpocket at the same time. Doing so will result in the knight temporarily disappearing, or "flickering", for 1–2 seconds. Some players incorrectly believe that "flickering" is caused by players wielding weapons while pick-pocketing, this however is a myth.
