|Magical seeds in a mithril case.|
Mithril seeds are a magical type of seed that can be planted almost anywhere to grow some flowers in the ground. On planting the seeds, the player will move one adjacent square then be given the option to pick the flowers. Picking the flowers produces one of 9 different colours of flowers.
On 18 March 2013, along with player-run games of chance being disallowed under the RuneScape Rules of Conduct, the way that the seeds worked was mended so that when planted, they simply appear as mixed flowers until picked. Players then yield a random colour of flower upon harvesting them.
The flowers were previously exploited for the purpose of a "gambling game" wherein a player would plant mithril seeds whilst another player attempted to guess what colour of flower would be randomly generated.
The change vastly cut the supply of white and black flowers down; where it used to be that one could simply watch for a white or black flower while planting mithril seeds before picking them, now a player looking to produce a black or white flower must pick up (and subsequently drop) every single flower that they plant. As a result, the process is much more tedious.
Most of the probabilities in this section are an estimation based on the data of planting 10,000 mithril seeds, except black and white flowers which have been confirmed.
