Rune pouch detail

The rune pouch is an item that can store 16,000 of three types of runes. Players can use the runes from within the pouch, saving inventory space. If a player dies while carrying a rune pouch in the Wilderness or in a PVP world, they will lose the rune pouch. If a player is killed by another player, neither player will receive the rune pouch. Since the death mechanics update on 22 May 2015, it is kept on death outside of PVP, along with any runes in it, despite what the current "Items lost on Death" menu claims.

It can be purchased at the Bounty Hunter Store for 1,200,000 points. Tier 1 Mysterious emblems can be bought on the Grand Exchange, with each emblem giving 50,000 points. 24 of these are required to purchase a rune pouch, costing 1,634,928 coins. Higher tier emblems can also be "bought" off of player killers for typically lower prices in order to acquire sufficient points. A Tier 7 purchase from another player (likely in a clan chat based around selling emblems), is required for the rune pouch because it will degrade to Tier 6 on death, and it can go for anywhere from 1,000,000-1,500,000 coins.

After an update, you are now able to purchase a rune pouch for 1,250 slayer reward points from any slayer master .

Players can speak to the Magic combat tutor in Lumbridge to toggle an option which allows runes to be placed directly into the rune pouch upon pickup, provided that the rune pouch contains at least one of the specific rune, and that there is space in the stack for runes.

Players cannot own more than one rune pouch. It can be taken to Entrana, since runes aren't prohibited by the monks.

Trivia[]

  • If a player attempts to store the rune pouch while the storage interface is open, the message "Don't be silly." appears in the chatbox.
