The rune pouch is an item that can store 16,000 of three types of runes. Players can use the runes from within the pouch, saving inventory space. If a player dies while carrying a rune pouch in the Wilderness or in a PVP world, they will lose the rune pouch. If a player is killed by another player, neither player will receive the rune pouch. Since the death mechanics update on 22 May 2015, it is kept on death outside of PVP, along with any runes in it, despite what the current "Items lost on Death" menu claims.
It can be purchased at the Bounty Hunter Store for 1,200,000 points. Mysterious emblems can be purchased on the Grand Exchange, which can be exchanged for 50,000 points each. You will need 24 emblems to purchase a rune pouch, costing 3,170,448.
Players can speak to the Magic combat tutor in Lumbridge to toggle an option which allows runes to be placed directly into the rune pouch upon pickup, provided that the rune pouch contains at least one of the specific rune, and that there is space in the stack for runes.
Players cannot own more than one rune pouch. Prior to Wilderness slayer, ironmen often obtained the rune pouch by buying kills from other player to not risk their items in PKing, as obtaining it from killing Wilderness bosses was very slow. However, now Krystilia's assignments have a chance to give the player mysterious emblems while slaying. If a player attempts to store the rune pouch while the storage interface is open, the message "Don't be silly." appears in the chatbox. You can take the Rune Pouch to Entrana.
