A spirit seed is a rare seed that members can use to grow a spirit tree at level 83 Farming. A nearby gardener will watch over your growing spirit tree for a payment of 5 monkey nuts, 1 monkey bar, and 1 ground tooth.
There are four patches, one each at Port Sarim, Etceteria, Brimhaven, and Zeah (Hosidius House at 35% favour). At level 83, you can only have one planted at a time. At level 91 you can have two planted at a time and at level 99 you can have "unlimited" spirit trees planted at a time. You need to pay each farmer separately to watch it if planting two spirit trees. Multiple spirit tree seeds may be planted in plant pots and grown into spirit tree saplings at the same time. Once the tree is grown or dies, it can be removed and another sapling planted.
Spirit seeds are obtainable from bird nests. It is possible to "buy" a spirit seed by purchasing mole skin/claws from players and trading them to Wyson until you obtain a seed from a nest. You are likely to profit if you convert all of these into crushed nests and seeds/rings, but it is a time consuming process.
It is important to note that the use of a garden pie will allow you to plant spirit trees at patches three levels higher than your current Farming level. Boosting is only required when creating saplings, planting the tree and not when checking its health.
